Motorola Broadband (now part of Motorola's Connected Home unit) posted Q4 sales of $691 million, up 25 percent from a year ago.
The division also recorded a profit of $47 million, compared to a loss of $52 million in the year-ago quarter. Motorola attributed the earnings improvement due to higher sales as well as a goodwill impairment charge of $73 million.
For the full year, the division had earnings of $125 million, up from a loss of $38 million.
Overall, Motorola posted record sales of $8.84 billion, up 1.9 billion, or 27 percent, from the year-ago period. Motorola also had a profit of 28 cents per share, up from 18 cents per share.
