ESPN Pay-Per-View is launching a new Web site to educate consumers about its service.

According to the company, the Web site will provide subscribers or would-be subscribers with details about packages and pricing, blackout information and schedules. Cable and satellite providers who offer ESPN PPV can be linked to the site to afford their customers the option of subscribing online.

"We hope this Web site will help increase consumer awareness of ESPN PPV and clarify some frequently-asked questions about season packages, championships and special events," said Matt Murphy, the company's vice president of broadband interactive sales, in a release.

ESPN PPV includes subscription packages for college football and basketball, as well as special events, boxing and ESPN-produced movies. Its next event is the ESPN Fantasy Football Forecast, which will premiere in August and feature a behind-the-scenes look at fantasy-league play.
