Time Warner Cable will use software from SupportSoft Inc. to automate service activation on the Web for the Road Runner service.
The MSO will deploy SupportSoft's Smart Access, Service Automation Suite and Knowledge Center Suite software, which together automate a Web-based activation process and provide ongoing support to Road Runner customers.
The platform will enable customers to determine whether their PCs qualify for a high-speed connection and enable them to install the service without the need for a separate CD. The software can also provide customers with automated technical and non-technical support.
"We feel that the Web-based activation model gives our customers the ease-of-use they expect and the flexibility we need in order to keep our costs down and our customers satisfied," said Dave Temlak, senior vice president of customer care for Time Warner Cable, in a release.
