Karen Brown has joined CED as senior editor, where she will cover technology and business issues tied to video-on-demand, high-definition television, high-speed data, IP telephony and other advanced broadband services and applications.
In her new role at CED, Brown will research and write features and news stories for the monthly print publication, and help supply day-to-day industry coverage and analysis for CED Broadband Direct, the magazine's daily electronic newsletter. Brown will split her time between CED and Wireless Week, where she also holds the title of senior editor.
Brown started covering broadband technology in April 1999 as associate technology editor for Cable World. She moved to Broadband Week magazine in July 2000, then went to work as a technology writer for Multichannel News in August 2001 when Broadband Week was folded back into Multichannel News as a special technology section. She joined Wireless Week earlier this year.
"We are excited to have Karen join CED's editorial team," said CED Editor Jeff Baumgartner. "Her extensive technical and operational knowledge of the broadband sector and the cable industry will be a tremendous asset to the magazine and to CED's readership."
