Broadband ASP CommPartners formally announced it will power its IP telephony system with Syndeo Corp.'s Syion-branded call management server and media gateway controller.

CommPartners will also use Syndeo's pre-integrated "Plus" platform, which the vendor first introduced in September. "Plus" is a pre-configured, multiple-vendor platform made up of PacketCable network components such as announcement and record keeping servers and CALEA servers.

The combined platform "gives us the resources necessary to enable operators-even the ones too small to profitably implement VoIP-to execute a triple play offering to their customers," said CommPartners President Dave Clark, in a release.

Las Vegas-based CommPartners is one of a growing number of ASPs that aim to partner with cable operators on their deployments of IP telephony and other advanced broadband services. CommPartners plans to be ready for VoIP deployments during the first half of 2004.
