Notching the latest in a string of partnerships, Movielink LLC has secured a distribution deal with Terra Lycos, which runs multiple Web portals.
Under the deal, the companies have constructed a co-branded site that offers download access to Movielink's library, which includes recent box office hits such as Gangs of New York and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Movielink is backed by five Hollywood studios: MGM, Sony, Universal, Warner Bros. and Paramount. The service also offers titles from The Walt Disney Company as a spate of independent filmmakers. Lycos is promoting the co-branded site at its home page and affiliated sites, including HotBot.com, RagingBull.com and Tripod.com, among others.
Movielink has formed similar partnerships with Time Warner Cable's Road Runner cable modem service and with BellSouth, which offers DSL under the "FastAccess" brand.
