In Demand is making plans to launch up to three linear high-definition television channels, marking a move that could take direct aim at Mark Cuban's HDNet.

The first of those channels, to be named INHD, is slated to bow Septem-ber 1 and feature "several hundred hours" of movies, pro and college sports programming. In Demand said it plans to launch other HD networks later this year that focus on movies and sports programming. INHD initially will show 12 hours of content that will be recycled twice each day.
