Insight Communications said fiscal third quarter revenues jumped 12 percent to $215 million, thanks to the addition of high-speed data (HSD) and digital subs and increased basic rates.
"Each of our products — basic, digital, data and telephone — posted solid gains this quarter," said Insight Vice Chairman and CEO Michael Willner, in a press release.
Insight said revenue generating units (RGUs), the sum of basic, digital, cable modem and voice customers, reached 1.87 million in the period, 11 percent higher than the 1.68 million reported by the MSO in the year-ago period.
For the quarter, Insight added 20,000 new digital subs, giving it 355,400, and signed up 23,500 new HSD customers, extending that base to 168,300. The MSO also ended the quarter with 37,700 cable telephony customers after adding 7,100 during the period.
