Cablevision Systems Corp. has appointed Hank Ratner to vice chairman.
Most recently Ratner, 43, served as vice chairman of Rainbow Media Holdings Inc., Cablevision's programming arm. In his new role, Ratner will expand his duties to Cablevision's divisions, report to company President and CEO James Dolan and collaborate with Dolan on the company's overall planning and development.
Among his recent accomplishments, Ratner negotiated Rainbow's sale of Bravo to NBC for about $1.25 billion, and Quadrangle Capital Partner's $75 million investment in Cablevision.
Ratner, who joined the company in 1987, also played a key role in the creation of the RMG tracking stock, Cablevision's purchase of Madison Square Garden, the New York Knicks and New York Rangers pro sports franchises.
