The Interactive Television Alliance, a group formed of executives from some of the leading companies in the interactive television services sphere, recently named the members of its board of directors. Like the group's diverse make-up, the new board reflects broad industry diversity as well.
Led by iTV vet Art Cohen of ACTV, and co-chaired by TV producer Karen Lennon of Beyond Z, the group's board also includes: Comcast's Steve Heeb; Rick Mandler from Disney; Intel's Paul Pilat; Wink Communications' Bryan McGuirk; and Worldgate's Gerald Kunkel.
Other at large members include: Arthur Orduna from Canal+; DirecTV's Brad Beale; John P. Roberts from the Game Show Network; Liberate's Coleman Sisson; Andy Beers with Microsoft; Scientific Atlanta's Jenifer Cistola; Bill Sheppard from Sun Microsystems; and Turner Broadcast Network's Kevin Cohen.
After coming together officially for the first time back in May at the NCTA's National Show, the new board met for the first time this week at the BroadbandPlus Show in Anaheim. Back in May the group announced that at the top of its agenda, the iTV Alliance would promote interactive television deployment through consumer awareness campaigns and cross-industry outreach.
