Alopa Networks added customer premise equipment qualification functionality to its to its MetaServ provisioning platform.
The CPE qualification allows service providers to "look directly into clients' desktops," Alopa reports, letting them monitor a subscribers' whole CPE network, rather than just the modems.
MetaServ automates service to cable subscribers, including self-provisioning and self-activation. Its OSS software integrates availability, equipment and services qualification, service selection, mediation, activation and assurance applications on one platform, Alopa says. It supports DOCSIS 1.1 and proprietary equipment, as well as such services as data, voice and video with drag-and-drop abilities.
The CPE qualification is an enhancement, says Alopa spokesman Ramin Ekhtiar. The product is included in the MetaServ package and is available now.
