Alopa Networks and RiverDelta Networks are partnering to provide MSOs with an open access based self-provisioning solution for DOCSIS 1.1 broadband networks. Alopa and RiverDelta will enable service providers to deploy differentiated services, while allowing consumers to self-activate and customize their own service plans.

MSOs will now be able to support open access and develop sustainable revenue streams from multiple providers. Operators can sell wholesale services to CLECs, IXCs and ISPs, as well as specialized content providers such as ASPs or gaming and entertainment providers.

Alopa's XML standards-based open access support automates activation and mediation of services between MSOs and broadband service providers. RiverDelta Networks' SmartFlow gives MSOs the ability to establish and enforce network policies for admission control and rate limitations to ensure that all service level agreements are met, while optimizing revenue from available network capacity.
