Nortel's Personal Internet is a suite of content networking products and technology speeds for personalized content delivery from the subscriber edge through the optical core to the content edge and back. The solutions suite will include new and existing content networking products at both the subscriber (access) edge and the content (data/hosting center) edge. These strategic locations at the edge of the Internet will provide a new control point where 'best content' decisions will be made.
According to Nortel, a key requirement in the delivery of personalized Internet services is real-time knowledge of the distance between a user and the requested content.
