Emperative announced last month that Cox Communications is using its software as the foundation for automated activation of cable modem subscribers. Specifically, in its middle-America cable system, Cox has deployed Emperative's ProvEn provisioning engine and Cable Modem Express, new software announced separately last month. The deployment is potentially worth more than $1 million for Emperative over the next 12 to 18 months.
Cox has deployed Emperative's ProvEn across its middle-America systems in more than 35 cities in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri and Idaho. Cox is using Emperative's provisioning software for automating cable modem service activation and many complex provisioning events between cable modems, CMTSs, Operational Support Systems, end user applications and customer service interfaces.
In the Cox network, Emperative's ProvEn sits behind the customer service application.
