This isn't the kind of integrity Jiminy Cricket lectured Pinocchio about. Because an in-house Disney lawyer mishandled confidential documents pertaining to the AOL/Time Warner merger, the FCC has restricted all companies' in-house lawyers access to the records.
The FCC will still allow outside lawyers to view confidential documents, but only after the agency has been reassured that inquiring minds have "procedures to protect against the improper disclosure of confidential information."
In other dark crannies of Disney's not-so-wonderful-world, the company is still fussing with Comcast over carriage of its programming. Should the two companies not be able to resolve the issue soon, ABC could go dark in parts of New Jersey, L.A., Chicago, Toledo and Flint, Mich.
