As the de-facto service management system for cable/MSOs' residential offering, DOCSIS is essential for simplifying operations. Operators want to leverage it for automating the turn-up of service for business customers, as well. A state-of-the-art platform for new business services includes EPON for last-mile connectivity, MEF-based Ethernet services for middle-mile/regional connectivity, and the integration of those two to deliver end-to-end services.
