The tru2way technology, as well as home security, monitoring and automation, will be part of the CableNET demonstration at The Cable Show ’08, being held May 18–20 in New Orleans.
tru2way – the retail brand for the OpenCable (hardware) and OCAP (software) technical initiatives – is the subject of a two-day pre-convention conference for OCAP Developers, CableLabs said. The event is co-sponsored by the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), CableLabs and Vidiom Systems.
CableNET is a technology showcase that is co-sponsored by CableLabs and the NCTA. The showcase offers a hands-on experience with content, services and applications.
Within CableNET, companies with tru2way technology demonstrations include Samsung, Sigma Designs and Zodiac Interactive. Advanced video demonstrations will be given by Digeo, Motorola, Pixel3 and Symmetricom. And home security displays are planned by GE Security and iControl, InGrid Home Security, uControl Inc. and Z-Wave.
CableNET ’08 will also feature the following technology demonstrations: 145 Mbps download speeds, broadband wireless, interactive advertising, Internet-focused applications and services, and advanced PacketCable 2.0-based technologies.
