The presets are designed to enable to speed the process of programmers using ProMedia Carbon to transform video and audio content into media formats optimized for Netflix.
Cox Communications has launched the full slate of MoviePlex services from Starz, which included the multi-screen service MoviePlex Play. Cox subscribers can now watch MoviePlex, MoviePlex On Demand, and the MoviePlex Play authenticated online TV Everywhere service as part of their Cox Advanced TV package.

On Friday Rogers Communications laid claim to be being the first cable operator in Canada to launch an app for streaming on demand video to LG Electronics’ smart TVs. Rogers Anyplace TV will be available on 2012 and 2013 LG Smart TVs including OLED and Ultra HD. At launch, the app will host more than 1,000 hours of content.

SeaChange International Inc. shares sank in after-hours trading Tuesday after the video software company issued a disappointing forecast. The Acton, Mass.-based company posted net income of $7 million, or 21 cents per share, for its fiscal fourth quarter that ended Jan. 31. Cablevision announced this morning that its Wi-Fi service, Optimum WiFi, was now enabled across more than 75,000 hotspots in its New York Metropolitan footprint. One of Motorola’s demos next week will feature a real-time HEVC encoder delivering streaming content to a Google Nexus 10 tablet for real-time decoding and playback, the company said. Apple has bought WiFiSlam, a startup that has been developing a way to use Wi-Fi hotspots to help smartphones navigate large indoor spaces, like stores, airports and conference centers. The purchase is part of Apple’s efforts to bolster its own mapping and location capabilities, after breaking up with Google Inc. last year.
Bright House Networks has rolled out the next version of its Bright House TV App (BHTV), which includes a new interactive program (IPG) guide and remote DVR capabilities. The new IPG lets users navigate through up to seven days of program listings and has extensive search capabilities.
