Time Warner Cable has blended in a VOD guide on its TWC TV app that runs on Roku’s platform. The Roku platform launched early last with an initial focus on live TV, but the latest update allows those users to see some of Time Warner Cable’s VOD library right from the live TV guide.

CSG announced this morning that it was providing the content monetization and management platform for Comcast’s Xfinity On Campus service. After several years of trials, Comcast officially launched the IP-based Xfinity on Campus service last month. Comcast has implemented a software upgrade in Arris wireless gateways that enable IPv6 support. Separately, Arris announced it was the system integrator for the IPTV headend that BT has been using to distribute BT TV and BT Sport. Yahoo is auditioning for a bigger role on iPhones and iPads with the release of its first mobile application tailored for watching video on touch-control screens. The app, called Yahoo Screen, is set up to make the experience of sifting through video on smartphones and tablet computers more like channel surfing on a television.
Arris announced its own version of a Sling Box, built in conjunction with Sling Media. The Arris MS4000 can offer up to 4 simultaneous HD channels, of both live and on-demand content to mobile devices. It will be commercially available starting in the first quarter of 2014.
