Jungo's OpenRGNDS Group’s Jungo has released the sixth major version of its OpenRG gateway software, which enhances IPv6 support and adds a certified DLNA digital media server, cellular WAN support, the Broadband Forum's next-generation TR-181 data model, parental control service integration and more.

IPv6 enhancements across gateway functions include core networking, quality of service, firewall, packet acceleration, local Web-based management and remote management. The dual-stack approach supports a mixed IPv4 and IPv6 environment. In other words, operators can upgrade their networks gradually without needing to modify or replace their CPE.

"OpenRG version 6 is based on our experience with cable, DSL and FTTx service providers and the needs of the market-leading CPE vendors," said Eran Rom, CEO of Jungo. "Broadband service providers realize that to face the digital home challenge, they need to provide seamless connectivity, compelling connected home services and a unified end user experience across services."
