TiVo set to market multi-screen streamer

TiVo is preparing to hit the market with its retail transcoder/router that enables TiVo Premiere DVR users to distribute up to four simultaneous streams to Apple iOS devices.

The TiVo Stream, announced earlier this year, will sell for $130 and will be available from TiVo on Sept. 6 and at Best Buy shortly thereafter, according to a review of the device on AllThingsD [1].

TiVo is working on a version for Android devices.

The TiVo Stream works for all channels accessible through the TiVo service. Streams are transmitted via Wi-Fi (the company’s TiVoToGo accomplished a similar thing via wireline connections).

The box provides access to the program guide for content search and discovery.
