Microsemi adds voice chips for DOCSIS modems
Microsemi has introduced two new subscriber line interface circuits (SLICs) for voice over broadband cable applications.
The dual- and single-channel Le9540 and Le9541, respectively, offer industry-leading low power consumption and include features that allow product developers to add voice capabilities to DOCSIS and Euro-DOCSIS 3.0 modems.
The Le9540 and Le9541 are built on a high-voltage process technology. They are footprint-compatible, allowing product developers to design multiple products for various markets based on a single platform.
"Our new SLICs make VoIP service more affordable to deploy and operate by lowering bill-of-material and power consumption costs through a combination of unique features," said Jacques Issa, vice president of Microsemi's Voice and Power products group.
The new SLICs are available in production quantities now. Full data sheets and application notes are available to qualified customers.
