Time Warner Cable rings in holiday season with Best Buy offer
Time Warner Cable is getting a jump on the holiday shopping season by trying to entice residential subscribers with gift cards and a free Xbox 360 from Best Buy.
Time Warner Cable’s “Holiday Triple Play” hits Best Buy stores this week. New and existing Time Warner Cable customers that sign up for Time Warner Cable’s voice, video and data services during the holiday offer get a $150 Best Buy gift card. The triple-play bundle starts at $89.99 a month and lasts for one year.
Subscribers who take advantage of the Holiday Triple Play offer can also get DVR service free for one year – the equipment is extra – and five premium movie channels (HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime and The Movie Channel) free for three months when they sign up for all five premium services. In some areas, recurring bill pay may be required to receive the premium movie channels for free.
Customers who upgrade to Time Warner Cable’s premium service, SignatureHome with Premium View, can receive a $500 Best Buy gift card.
The Holiday Triple Play offer expires Jan. 5. It is available to new customers and to existing Time Warner Cable single-play customers who sign up for a qualifying triple-play package during this holiday period and register within 30 days of installation, or no later than Jan. 30.
For new Time Warner Cable customers who sign up for the Holiday Triple Play offer at a participating Best Buy store, an Xbox 360 4 GB console is also included in the promotion.

Time Warner Cable reported its third-quarter earnings  on Monday. The nation’s second-largest cable operator lost more video subscribers than most analysts had projected.
