Cox promotes Freeland to VP of marketing for Cox Virginia
Cox Communications has promoted Jonathan Freeland as it new vice president of marketing in its Cox Virginia system.
Freeland, who started Jan. 10 and is based out of Cox's Hampton Roads office, has more than 15 years of marketing at sales experience at Cox. He started at Cox as a direct sales representative for Hampton Roads in 1995.
After working in numerous management roles, in 2005, Freeland was promoted to director of sales and marketing for Cox's Middle Georgia operation. Shortly thereafter, he advanced to vice president of sales and distribution and then vice president of marketing, both while at Cox Kansas/Arkansas.
"Jonathan is an innovative businessman, who understands our forward thinking strategies and fast paced service environment," said Gary McCollum, senior vice president and general manager of Cox Virginia. "In his new role with Cox, his executive experience and creativity will be essential in leading our team to a successful introduction of new product lines and services. As vice president of marketing for Virginia, Jonathan will be charged with leading one of the most integral aspects of Cox's continued success."
