Insight reports Q3 revenue gain

Brian Santo

Insight Communications reported a 7 percent increase in revenue, to $262.1 million, compared with its Q3 2009.

The improvement appears to derive from increases in revenue-generating units and increases in average revenue per user (ARPU), despite a decline in total customer relationships.

The company reported 766,200 customer relationships as of Sept. 30, a decrease of 9,500 from Sept. 30, 2009. Total RGUs were up by 70,500 (3 percent) from a year ago, to reach a total of 2.09 million.

In the third quarter just completed, the company added 9,800 RGUs, despite a loss of 12,100 basic customers. Insight reported a digital customer net gain of 21,800, a broadband customer net gain of 4,000 and a telephone customer net loss of 3,900.
