Tek snaps up Mixed Signals
Tektronix Inc. said it has acquired network monitoring specialist Mixed Signals.
Few details were provided in a terse announcement from Tek; the purchase price was not disclosed.
Mixed Signals provides digital content monitoring, including digital services, transport streams, ad insertion, switched digital video and interactive content. Among the company’s customers are Comcast, Cox Communications, Charter Communications, Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks and Rogers Cable.
“The acquisition of Mixed Signals Inc. brings to Tektronix a strong team that has delivered leading innovation to the video monitoring market,” said Eben Jenkins, general manager of the Tektronix Video Business. “The combination of Mixed Signals and Tektronix accelerates our ability to provide unmatched next-generation video test and monitoring solutions to our customers.”
Meanwhile, Tektronix Communications, a registered trademark of Tektronix Inc., has introduced a test and monitoring suite designed to provide a holistic approach to supporting network, service and IP performance in wireless networks.
The company’s new Iris Performance Intelligence (IPI) solution provides end-to-end analysis and reporting capabilities coupled with a KPI/KQI modeling engine.
Mark Driedger, vice president and general manager of Tektronix Communications' Network Management business, said, “IPI provides multiple departments within an operator the ability to monitor and report on applications that provide the highest return on investment by ensuring the successful launch of end-user services in a proactive and efficient way.”
