• Incognito adds auto-configuration server to provisioning software

Incognito Software announced the addition of an Auto-Configuration Server component to its Broadband Command Center, which it will show for the first time in North American at next month’s Cable Show in Los Angeles.
Incognito said the Auto-Configuration Server allows software to provision TR-069 devices. The cable industry has recently seen the emergence of multimedia residential gateways that utilize traditional DOCSIS provisioning and TR-069 provisioning to manage value-added features such as gateway configuration, VoIP, Wi-Fi, 3G femtocell and IPTV set-top box services.
The Auto-Configuration Server extends Broadband Command Center’s capabilities, allowing existing customers to not only manage these multimedia gateways, but also support service expansion to non-cable systems such as DSL, PON and WiMAX, where TR-069 is the dominant provisioning and management system.
“The addition of an Auto-Configuration Server to Broadband Command Center provides a straightforward expansion for operators looking to deploy multimedia gateway cable modems,” said Chris Busch, vice president of broadband technologies at Incognito Software. “We are helping cable operators provision their devices regardless of their unique provisioning needs. Having a single set of systems to manage and implement all products sold to a subscriber represents significant implementation and operational savings for our customers.”
• A-L exceeds 100 Gbps in LTE test

Alcatel-Lucent said it has exceeded an aggregate of 100 Gbps in a test of a mobile gateway, a marker on the way toward the terabit capacities that the wireless industry expects will be needed to support mobile broadband in the future.
Working with test specialist Ixia, A-L tested two Alcatel-Lucent 7750 Service Routers, deployed in the role of LTE/EPC Serving Gateway and Packet Data Network (PDN) gateway. The routers successfully passed multimedia traffic over simultaneous 80 Gbps downstream and 20 Gbps upstream links.
Ixia’s IxLoad application and Acceleron load modules generated and tested a continuous flow of real-time traffic using more than 1.5 million active LTE connections loaded at 65 kbps each. That translates into approximately 1.5 million voice LTE channels, or more than 65,000 high-definition HTML-based H.264 video sessions.
