Avail-TVN/Evolution pick up 1st MSO

Zito Media is going to be the first MSO to deploy Avail-TVN’s MPEG-4 linear video service across its systems, which dot the Mid-Atlantic and central regions.

Zito Media will be using set-tops and Conax conditional access from Evolution Digital, which has partnered with Avail-TVN.

Zito Media President James Rigas said, “With Avail-TVN’s MPEG-4 solution, not only can we make better use of our existing bandwidth, allowing for growth of services such as HD, but also provide a platform upon which we can build to offer additional Avail-TVN products and services for our customers, while avoiding investment in physical plant upgrades.”

Zito Media has 23,000 subscribers served by 10 cable systems in Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
