A-L beefs up Web gateway for B2B
The latest revision of Alcatel-Lucent’s Web Services Gateway (WSG) improves security, adds policy controls, and adds other features for service providers that provide Web-based products for their corporate customers.
With Release 3.0 of the Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess 8550 WSG, a provider could, for example, allow an entertainment company to provide its movie schedule information to a user without jeopardizing either the third party or service provider's security, A-L said.
Key technology developments in the Alcatel-Lucent 8550 WSG Release 3.0 include:
- Detailed, context-sensitive capture of usage patterns that lets organizations monitor and adapt to security breaches – including fraudulent transactions from trusted users
- Efficient, flexible, high-performance policy evaluation and contextual policy enforcement for protection of private information
- Granular views of user-centric Web services, ensuring authorized individuals (including those offering third-party services) have access to the information they require
- Enhanced monitoring of user interactions and Web services, ensuring specified service-level agreements.
"The 8550 Web Services Gateway provides the enterprise a reusable corporate-wide infrastructure that can be applied to many facets of governance, from security to compliance," said Michel Emelianoff, Alcatel-Lucent vice president of Enterprise Security Solutions.
