Macrovision’s Powers named chair of DLNA Ecosystem Committee
Macrovision’s Adam Powers, director of standards and emerging technology, has been named chair of the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) Ecosystem Committee.
The DLNA is a global alliance of companies collaborating on an interoperable network of personal computers, consumer electronics and mobile devices in and beyond the home. The DLNA Ecosystem Committee is responsible for DLNA business and industry relationships, including new initiatives and technologies, and for verifying consumer adoption and ease of use of the DLNA standard, the Alliance said.
“I encourage all companies and industry alliances in the digital home and consumer electronics markets that are interested in DLNA to reach out to me and the members of the Ecosystem Committee,” Powers said. “We look forward to collaborating with these companies and integrating various perspectives to help bring true digital living to consumers.”
Earlier this year, Macrovision was also named a promoter member of the DLNA.
The DLNA has the support of approximately 250 companies, including CE, computer and mobile device manufacturers, service providers, and component and software developers. As of November, the DLNA had certified more than 3,100 DLNA-enabled products from 36 different manufacturers.
