Willner, Rodgers to co-chair The Cable Show ‘09
The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) has confirmed that Michael Willner, vice chairman and CEO of Insight Communications, and Johnathan Rodgers, president and CEO of TV One, will co-chair The Cable Show ’09.
The Cable Show ’09 will be held April 1-3, 2009, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
The show will see the first-ever “Cable Connection Spring,” a week of activities in which a variety of additional cable industry meetings, events and conferences will be scheduled in conjunction with the trade show. Cable Connection Spring will run from April 1-6 in Washington, D.C. and will include CableLabs’ conferences and the SCTE’s Conference on Emerging Technologies (ET).
In March, the NCTA’s board of directors announced that it had approved a plan, which was co-developed with other cable industry associations, to schedule industry meetings and events at the same time during selected weeks in the spring and fall – called “Cable Connection Spring” and “Cable Connection Fall” (story here [1]).
The participating groups include the NCTA, the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), The Walter Kaitz Foundation, Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), CableLabs, the Association of Cable Communicators (ACC), the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau (CAB), The Cable Center, Cable Positive, Cable Pioneers, and The National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC).
In the fall of 2009, CTAM Summit, SCTE Cable-Tec Expo, the Cable Center Hall of Fame Dinner and a CableLabs seminar will be among the events in Denver, beginning Oct. 25.
