Triveni launches monitoring probe
Triveni Digital has augmented its StreamScope test and measurement line with the RM-40SE, a monitoring probe that provides continual remote MPEG video monitoring for real-time RF streams.
The instrument is packaged in a compact design, yet features the ability to verify digital TV transport streams carried by broadcasters and cable, telco, satellite, mobile TV and IPTV service providers.
The RM-40SE can be monitored from any SNMP agent in the network, and alarms can be distributed via e-mail, SMS or SNMP traps. Interfaces to Triveni Digital GuideBuilder metadata management systems validate that the streams are well formed from a standards perspective.
The probe also includes stream profiling and comparison and template learning. An optional Remote Troubleshooting Module (RTM) provides remote analysis capabilities, including a function that allows users to analyze issues up to two weeks in the past.
In addition to working with the ATSC, ATSC A/78 and ETR 101 290 standards that are already supported by the StreamScope line, the RM-40SE represents the first implementation of the new SCTE-142 standard describing transport stream conformance criteria, according to the company.
