SatLink Communications Ltd. [1], a teleport based in Israel, has expanded its channel capacity with new transport using Harmonic Inc.’s [2] DiviCom Electra 1000 multi-channel MPEG-2 encoders, ProStream 1000 with DiviTrackIP, statistical multiplexing, and NMX Digital Service Manager.

"SatLink's service expansion is indicative of the increasing consumer demand for more diversity in video programming," said Nimrod Ben-Natan, vice president of Products and Strategy for Harmonic Inc.

"To meet this need, satellite operators like SatLink need flexible variable bit-rate systems that enable them to maximize the number of channels per transponder. The combination of the Electra multi-channel encoders and DiviTrackIP offers a highly cost-effective solution that makes it possible for SatLink to enhance their business by provisioning a greater range of broadcast channels."
