Apple TV is fit to ship
Apple confirmed it has started shipments of Apple TV, a device that allows users to bridge iTunes content (including music, podcasts and high-def movies) stored on the PC or Mac to their fancy big screen televisions.
Apple said its TV gear connects to “almost all modern widescreen televisions,” and is outfitted with an 802.11n interface for wireless distribution.
The device, which carries a retail price of $299, sports a 40 GB hard drive and a 720p HD output.
The iTunes vault contains about 400 movies, 350 TV shows, 20,000 audio books, and more than 4 million songs, the company said.
