* Harmonic picks HD tech partner
Harmonic Inc. [1] has selected Ambarella Inc.'s [2] "A2" platform for its HD H.264 compression architecture.

Under the arrangement, Harmonic will team the Ambarella A2 Encoder system with its DiviCom Electra MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) HD and SD encoders. The A2 is designed to encode full 1080i x 1920 resolution HD in a single chip.
