Cedar Point adds $15 M to coffers
VoIP vendor Cedar Point Communications has raised $15 million in a round led by Focus Ventures.
The round, which extends Cedar Point's total equity funding to $85 million, also included participation from existing investors Ascent Venture Partners, Battery Ventures, Charles River Ventures, Comcast Interactive Capital, JP Morgan Partners, Motorola Ventures and STAR Ventures.
Cedar Point said the funds will be used to support additional manufacturing, marketing and sales activities, as well as for activities in Europe and other regions.
The company's flagship product is the SAFARI C³ Multimedia Switching System, a platform that combines several PacketCable network elements, including the call management server, media gateway and record keeping server, in one device.
Last year, Comcast selected Cedar Point as a "primary" VoIP vendor.
