CableMatrix, Camiant get the nod in Europe

Jeff Baumgartner

CableMatrix and Camiant have become the first policy server vendors to obtain Euro-PacketCable Multimedia qualification.

They, along with a handful of other vendors, obtained qualification in April for the North American version of the spec set by CableLabs.

The Euro-CableLabs (ECL) certification board also awarded Euro-PacketCable qualification to the Siemens SURPASS hiQ8000 call management server, and Euro-DOCSIS 2.0 qualification to a cable modem embedded in the Philips DVR1001/10 DVB-C set-top box. Hitron Technologies' BRG-3520T ED standalone cable modem also obtained 2.0 certification.

The ECL board also welcomed Com Hem, the largest MSO in Sweden, as its newest member. Others include Casema, Essent, Ewt Breitbandnetze, Ish, Liwest, Netcologne, NTL, Tele Columbus, Telenet, Telewest, TV Cabo and UPC.
