Gear makes the Euro-DOCSIS grade

Euro-DOCSIS wave 17 ended with certifications for one modem and four embedded-multimedia terminal adapters (eMTAs).

The Thomson TCW710 modem won DOCSIS 2.0 certification. eMTAs from Linksys (CM2P2E), Motorola (SURFboard SBV5120E), Scientific-Atlanta (WebSTAR EPX2203) and Thomson (TH520) also were awarded DOCSIS 2.0 certification.

Motorola's EMTA also received Euro-PacketCable certification. Nortel Networks' Communication Server 2000 obtained Euro-PacketCable qualification.

Certification testing for Euro-PacketCable Multimedia-compliant cable modem termination systems and policy servers will begin with wave 18, scheduled to start in late January 2005.
