Actiontec and Texas Instruments are supplying consumers with the first USB DSL modem available in retail stores. The Actiontec Home DSL modem, based on TI's DSP technology, is an "easy-to-use," turnkey package for users who want faster Internet access.
The kit contains everything users need to install DSL themselves. (This could be assuming a lot.) Besides packaging actual know-how, the kit contains the modem, four microfilters and installation and Internet access from an ISP. After the user follows all directions, he or she just waits for the DSL provider to flip the switch.
Plug-and-play DSL…hope they have tech support standing by.
