CenturyLink is assisting Utah Education and Telehealth Network (UETN) in constructing fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network to deliver broadband connectivity at gigabit speeds.
Objecting that using Title II to impose network neutrality rules is too heavy-handed, CenturyLink said that it yearly spends hundreds of millions of dollars to “build, maintain and update an open Internet network and does not block or degrade lawful content.”

AT&T’s suit is somewhat surprising as the carrier was expected to allow wireless industry organizations lead the legal battle. Yesterday, both the NCTA and ACA filed suits on behalf of the cable industry, as did the CTIA on behalf of its wireless constituency.
Nokia will make an offer for all of the equity securities issued by Alcatel-Lucent, through a public exchange offer in France and in the United States, on the basis of 0.55 of a new Nokia share for every Alcatel-Lucent share. The deal values Alcatel-Lucent at $16.6 billion, and the deal is expected to close in early 2016.
