After announcing a TV Everywhere deal last month, RCN said it had significantly expanded the number of available VOD choices from Showtime.

Authenticated RCN subscribers now have access to “10 times” the number of programming from Showtime On Demand. The expanded VOD lineup includes access to hundreds of hours of the network’s programming, including current and past seasons of Showtime shows such as “Homeland,” “Dexter,” “Ray Donovan,”  “Masters Of Sex,” “Penny Dreadful,” and “Cali fornication” along with box office hits, sports, documentaries specials, and comedy specials.

"We are dedicated to delivering customers more high-quality content with a system that is capable of delivering more choice," said Chris Fenger, chief operating officer at RCN. "This is another important step in bringing consumers more value and the multiplatform experience they want."

The increased Showtime VOD lineup is available across RCN’s entire footprint including Boston, Chicago, Lehigh Valley (PA), New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

It’s been a busy year to date for RCN with the recent launches of the Netflix app, TiVo T6 DVR, and Caller ID on TiVo.
