Cablevision’s video content is going mobile thanks to an update to its app that allows its subscribers to watch more than 100 networks out of their homes.

The cable operator has integrated a new “TV to Go” feature into its Optimum App for on the go viewing of TV Everywhere services from HBO Go, Watch Disney and WatchESPN, among others. The app initially launched with live TV and VOD programming within subscribers’ homes.

“The integration of TV to Go networks into the Optimum App makes it the ultimate platform for mobile TV viewing, whether a customer is connected to their home network or out and about,” said Bradley Feldman, senior vice president of product management for Cablevision. “Our customers enjoy being able to watch TV from their smartphones, tablets, and laptops, and we believe that having their mobile content available in one place - the Optimum App – will make their experience that much more seamless and enjoyable.”

The TV to Go feature allows subscribers to scroll through a list of channels before being linked directly to a network’s app or TV Everywhere web portal. The out-of-home viewing experience works anywhere there’s a broadband connection.

To make it easier to find video content for out-of-home viewing, users can view by genre or by lists that correspond with their level of video service from Cablevision.

Children’s programming includes content from Disney, Sprout and Cartoon Network while premium content from HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cinemax and Encore is available to authenticated Cablevision subscribers.

Sports networks include ESPN, beIN Sports, Fox Sports, NFL Network and Redzone and NBC Sports Network. News hounds can find breaking news coverage from News12, CNBC and CNN.
