Synacor fuels Midcontinent’s TVE Sochi viewers
Midcontinent Communications has deployed Synacor's Cloud ID Auto Authentication feature in time for the Sochi Olympics, which has led to a decrease in TV Everywhere abandonment by its viewers.
Using Synacor’s white label auto authentication, Midcontinent has reported a dramatic drop in TV Everywhere abandonment, coming in under 10 percent compared to a typical TV Everywhere abandonment rate of approximately 50 percent.
"These are great numbers,” said Gary Shawd, Midcontinent's vice president of information services said. “We look forward to using Synacor's AutoAuth in March for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, integrating all our authorized programmers and giving Midcontinent customers the best possible TV Everywhere experience."

Last year, Midcontinent was among the first service providers to offer its subscribers Synacor’s Social Login feature, which allows them to simultaneously authenticate for TV Everywhere content when logging onto Facebook, Twitter or Google.
Midcontinent provides triple play services to more than 300,000 residential and business customers in North and South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
