AT&T, Beats Music team up for family offering
After rumors of a subscription streaming music service for some time, AT&T announced it has hooked up with Beats Music for a new family-orientated offering that will launch Jan. 21.
The deal with Jimmy Iovine’s Beats Electronics will allow AT&T wireless customers to stream or download the service to five family members on up to 10 devices for $15 a month. To sweeten the deal, AT&T is offering 90-day free trial for families.
Individual AT&T wireless customers can get the same access across three devices for $9.99 a month with the first 30 days free.

Beats Music is focused on delivering a different music service with personalized curation from real industry experts and AT&T is focused on breaking the affordability barrier that currently exists for families in subscription and downloaded music. Everyone in the family loves music," said David Christopher, AT&T Mobility’s chief marketing officer. "AT&T developed an innovative offer that lets each member of the family enjoy unlimited downloads of the music they love, as well as access to all that is unique about Beats Music – all at breakthrough value on a premium wireless network."
With Beats Music, each family member gains access to more than 20 million songs. Beats Music lays claim to being the first and only music service created by artists and music professionals. The service allows users to search and personalize the content across various genres based on artists, themes and events.
Beats Music will be available for download on nearly all major platforms or from a PC starting Jan. 21. It will become available in AT&T stores and online on Jan. 24.
