Just in time for all those BYOD showing up under the Christmas tree, Videotron has launched a new Wi-Fi optimization service.

The service features an in-home visit from a specially trained technician that comes to the customer’s home to optimize the Wi-Fi setup and reception. In addition to making sure the wireless network is running correctly and without interference, the technician can set up to as many as 10 wireless devices (such as laptops, tablets, game consoles, television sets, and printers) to connect to the in-home network.

The service, which cost $99.95, also includes “Wi-Fi Optimizers,” or Wi-Fi extenders, from D-Link and Arris.

“With this exclusive new service, available for the first time on the market, Videotron is again anticipating its customers’ needs and setting itself apart from the competition,” said Manon Brouillette, president and chief operating officer of Videotron. “We are addressing customers’ needs in an even more comprehensive manner while offering the best possible customer experience. In conjunction with the introduction of our Pro service, the turnkey Wi-Fi optimization service will enable our customers to exploit the full potential of our products and services day after day.”
