Verizon FiOS subscribers that have the free FiOS Mobile App are now be able to live stream the new channels from eligible devices, including the iPad, iPhone, select Android tablets and phones, and Kindle Fire tablets, both in and outside the home. The new channels are: AXS TV, beIN Sport, beIN Sport Espanol, Bloomberg Television,  Cine Sony Television, Cooking Channel, Encore, FEARnet, NFL RedZone (tablet only), Showtime, Showtime Extreme, Sony Movie Channel, STARZ, Trinity Broadcast, Universal Sports, and  TVGN (TV Guide Network.)

“Quality entertainment you watch from almost anywhere is the promise of the FiOS Mobile App,” said John Wimsatt, Verizon’s senior vice president of product development.  “The programming available will satisfy a wide variety of people, from sports fans to avid moviegoers, but we’re not done yet. Close collaboration with content and software partners allows us to deliver a seamless customer experience that will continue to become more robust and offer more variety over time.”

Channels that were previously available out-of-the home on the FiOS Mobile app were BBC America, BBC World News, Epix, HGTV, Travel Channel, NFL Network (tablet only), Food Network, DIY Network, and Tennis Channel. Customers can watch up to all 25 channels, depending upon their current FiOS TV package.

In addition, FiOS TV and Internet customers in the New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., areas can use their eligible tablets and mobile phones to watch news and weather at home on the local affiliates of networks such as CBS and Fox, and the local affiliates of Spanish-language networks such as UniMas and Univision.

The FiOS Mobile app also features on-demand content, including more than 45,000 on-demand titles. Customers can also access thousands of free and subscription-on-demand content from programmers such as HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Encore, Food Network, HGTV, and Travel Channel.
