Mediacom reported that third quarter revenue at its two units grew by 3.3 percent and 3.5 percent from last year’s Q3.

Mediacom has two business operations which the company must account for separately, but for practical purposes can be considered together. Combined revenue of the two units was approximately $408 million.

The company lost a total of 12,000 revenue generating units during the quarter. During the same period in 2012, Mediacom lost 9,000. That puts the company down 59,000 RGUs since last year. The loss of video customers overwhelmed the increases in broadband and phone subscribers. ARPU was up by over $3 in both operating units.

Capital spending has been largely flat. Lately, the company has been gradually migrating systems to all-digital.

Mediacom Communications Corporation is the nation’s eighth largest cable television company, serving smaller cities in the United States, with a significant customer concentration in the Midwestern and Southeastern regions.
