On Sunday AT&T will wrap up the deployment of its 45 Mbps down, 6 Mbps up data service with launches in five more states.

AT&T’s U-verse High Speed Internet Power is slated to roll out to residential and business customers in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. AT&T previously launched the service in 17 other states.

The launches of the 45 Mbps tier were part of AT&T’s Project Velocity IP (VIP), a three-year investment plan announced last fall to expand and enhance its IP broadband networks. AT&T said it would upgrade its top tier to 100 Mbps in the future, which still puts it behind Comcast and Verizon’s fasted download speeds.

U-verse Power is available to eligible residential customers at introductory rates as low as $49.95 per month for up to 24 months when bundled with TV and voice services. Current eligible U-verse Internet residential customers can upgrade their package and receive $10 off their bill for 12 months.
