Cox Communications recently named Bob Latvis as vice president of field operations, Jim Ruel as vice president of outside plant, maintenance and construction and Toni Stubbs as vice president of engineering and operations for Cox Virginia.

As new members of Cox Virginia’s senior executive team, Latvis, Ruel and Stubbs share responsibility for the more than 1.5 million Cox video, Internet, phone and home security subscriptions statewide and are based out of the Hampton Roads office in Chesapeake.

"Having a strong leadership team in place is critical as we continue to focus on investing in our network and launching state-of-the-art services to meet our customers' changing needs," said Gary McCollum, senior vice president and general manager for Cox Virginia. "The leadership and commitment from Bob, Jim and Toni are just what Cox needs to continue to connect our customers to the things they want and need, and to do so in a way that is easy and reliable."

Latvis began his career with Cox in Connecticut in 1988 before he relocated to Hampton Roads in 2004 as manager of dispatch/test desk. For the past six years, he served as director of field operations and most recently held the role of interim vice president of field operations before his appointment to vice president.

In his new job, Latvis is responsible for providing strategic leadership for fields services and commcenter operations for Cox Virginia.

Ruel began his career with Cox as a sales manager in Roanoke in 1994.  In 2007, Ruel relocated to Chesapeake to lead the company's technical operations in Hampton Roads and in 2009 assumed responsibility for leading the system's technical operations statewide.

In his newly appointed role, Ruel is responsible for 18,000 miles of network serving Cox Virginia's residential and commercial customers. Ruel's team is comprised of more than 215 primarily field-based employees.

Stubbs first joined Cox as vice president, information technology with Cox's former Middle America system, headquartered in Tyler, Texas. There she was the leading technical executive for the region. In 2006, she joined the Hampton Roads Team. She now leads Cox Virginia's information technology and network teams, delivering technical and process solutions for the business statewide.
