BCI taps former Cablevision/Bresnan exec Gibbs for commercial services post
BCI Broadband has brought a familiar face back into the fold with the recent hiring of John Gibbs as its senior vice president of business services.
Gibbs previously served as regional vice present of commercial sales at Cablevision’s Optimum West division, and was at Bresnan Communications prior to Cablevision’s purchase of those systems.
Gibbs, who started his new job on Monday, also held management positions at Frontier Communications and Charter Communications.
BCI Broadband was founded last year by president and CEO Jeff DeMond and executive vice president and chief financial officer Andrew Kober, both formerly with Bresnan Communications, with the backing of BBH Capital Partners (BBHCP), a private equity fund sponsored by Brown Brothers Harriman & Co.
In his new job, Gibbs reports to DeMond,
"Providing very advanced, customized business services has been a strategic part of our success in developing non-urban broadband systems since our earliest days in the industry," DeMond said. "Everyone at BCI is delighted to welcome John back to our team. His ability to anticipate the rapid changes in the needs of sophisticated business users and provide them with advanced solutions will serve BCI 's customers well as we continue to develop our markets."
